Curfew:

Two journalists. One forbidden truth.

A story about the cost of telling the truth.

  • A person fighting a fire in a car with flames and thick smoke at night.

    Logline

When political violence engulfs the Peruvian highlands, two journalists embark on a dangerous investigation that uncovers a massacre the world was never meant to see.

  • A group of people mourning around a casket with a crucifix on top, one person is wearing a hat, and another is dressed as a nun.

    Synopsis

Set in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Curfew follows an American journalist and a fearless Latina anchorwoman as they navigate military repression, insurgent violence, and their own moral limits in pursuit of the truth.

Inspired by real events, the film explores press freedom, state power, and the personal cost of bearing witness.

  • A camera with a long zoom lens lies on a patterned carpet, with red paint splattered all over its white body.

    Director’s Statement

Curfew is a film about silence — who enforces it, who survives it, and who dares to break it. The story is grounded in historical research and journalistic testimony, but told through an intimate, character-driven lens.

This film is not only about Peru’s past, but about the ongoing global struggle for truth.
